Our Mission
To support people of color to achieve their goals in education, art, social change and climate justice.
The Doris Prouty Foundation exists to honor the legacy and memory of Doris Elizabeth Prouty. Doris was a self-taught quilter and artist, and a teacher on many levels. She helped people to learn, play, heal, and do great things, to be themselves and to connect with each other.
Our Vision
When we look back, after having been at this work for awhile, we will see that:
Through the Doris Prouty Foundation, many people of color will have received scholarships and support for transformational educational experiences.
Climate Advocates will have effected positive outcomes in systems and communities to foster the healing of the earth’s natural systems.
Artists will have fostered movement toward a just and kind society through socially engaged projects.
And through their support of and connection with the Foundation, people from all walks of life will have learned about Doris Elizabeth Prouty and how she used her powers for good: to learn, to play, to heal, to be herself, to love, to connect with others, and do great things.
When we look back, will will feel connected, and inspired to continue achieving these dreams.
